Inbuilt card readers on our laptops or pc's supports only up to 4GB memory cards. If you try to read SDHC (higher capacity memory cards) it wont recognized by card reader. Most card readers do not support SDHC because of the way these new cards work. Vista now supports SDHC, at least up to 8GB but not by XP. I remember a while ago that some other machines had limitations that were simply down to drivers; an updated driver fixed this. After much searching I found driver ver 2.0.0.8 on (The official version with respect to Microsoft Update is 2.0.0.6.) With this 2.0.0.8, the reader now accepts 4GB and 8GB SDHC cards(on my ACER Aspire 5570 notebook). However, you can check for 16GB 32GB SDHC (if you have) .
